God displayed His awesomeness and power on August 21, 2017, with the total solar eclipse. I got to watch it with the residents, staff and some of the staff’s family members. We took a break from the daily routine celebrating the day with a picnic, playing corn hole and genuinely laughing and enjoying each other’s company. We shared the awesome display of God’s power together. Surely the existence of a Holy Creator was seen and felt by everyone who was looking. Nothing or no one could stop or alter the heavens. All of us watching together discussed and agreed that God’s existence is undeniable. Our hearts were full of worship.
But another miracle became evident to me among those I was with. I noticed how much I enjoyed being with this group that God has put together. It was the joy of being with people you not only love but really like being in their company. This is God’s design of a family, one that we enter through Jesus. That historical day, in fellowship with each other, we experienced God’s presence from darkness to light. As the scriptures say, truly we have been adopted by God and are no longer orphans (Eph. 1:5)
